I love the phrase in John 1 that says that Jesus is “full of grace and truth.” That’s an amazing pairing. As we read about Jesus’ interactions with people, he was always full of grace. He accepted people as they were. And yet he was also full of truth. While he accepted people, he never lowered the standard of what it meant to be a God-follower.
He loves and accepts us while calling us to complete surrender. I want to be full of Jesus and therefore full of grace and truth, too.

Colossians 1:17 says “… in him all things hold together.”
I am thankful that Jesus is what holds all things together. Often, it seems like I can’t hold my little piece of the world together, and yet amazingly Jesus is holding everything together, “things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities… .”
I praise you, Jesus, for holding all things together – and not only holding it together in a way that barely makes it, but also reconciling everything to God by making peace through your death on the cross!

1:23…”But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the good news.” I am thankful for not only the peace He has offered me by means of Christ’s blood, but for His continued faithfulness and work within me as well as for the people whom He has placed in my life to help me “stand firmly in it” each day.
